Zebra Technologies Corp. has released its Zebra P205 card printer, a single-sided monochrome plastic card printer for organizations looking to create personalized identification, membership and guest or loyalty cards.

The P205 printer can do monochrome printing on blank cards or personalize pre-printed membership or gift cards.

Organizations can order custom cards with a pre-printed color logo and images, then personalize the cards with the printer. The printer adds information such as a customer's name, black-and-white photo, account number and length of affiliation to the front or back of a card. A bar code also can be printed on the card.

A magnetic stripe encoder is available as an option. That way, the printer can store an account balance or membership renewal date on the card.

The printer has a drop-in ribbon cartridge for loading.

The P205 features a self-test button for quick troubleshooting, and a pocket guide reference for loading, cleaning and reading status messages. Cleaning reminders and error messages come up as text messages on the user’s computer monitor as well as specific colors on the LED display on the printer itself. The P205 is available through authorized Zebra card printer resellers.
