Video surveillance software company ObjectVideo said today at the U.S. Maritime Security Expo it has won a $750,000 award from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase II program to continue research and development of night vision video surveillance technologies.

ObjectVideo will use the STTR funds over the next two years to develop surveillance technologies to overcome challenges presented by nighttime environments, such as strange lighting effects, headlights, low-light conditions and other phenomena.

The STTR grant is the second awarded to ObjectVideo, which won a Phase I grant of $100,000 last year.
