MuxLab Releases Power-Thru Balun
Posted on: 09/15/2004

CCTV manufacturer MuxLab Inc. has introduced VideoEase CCTV Power-Thru Balun (500024), its latest product for the security and surveillance industry. The Power-Thru Balun, designed for fixed cameras, connects remote power and video to the CCTV camera through one Cat5 cable, instead of two. A modular RJ45 connector on the other end of the balun combines the two signals.

The Power-Thru Balun works with Muxlab’s other CCTV baluns; it also follows TIA-568 wiring standards and has a pin configuration label for directions during installation. Three twisted pairs up to 500 feet support Remote 24VAC (Class II) power, and MuxLab says longer distances can be accompanied at 28VAC.
